The Ambassador of Ghana to the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Prof. Ohene Adjei, paid an official visit to Murnau and Munich from 2nd to 5th July, 2026.
In Murnau, His Excellency was received at the State Chancellery to mark seven years of the Murnau-Atwima municipal partnership, and was entered into the municipality’s golden book.
He commended the Municipality and the German-Ghanaian Friendship Circle for sustaining a partnership built on people-to-people cooperation across education, health and trade.
His Excellency the Ambassador visited Emanuel-von-Seidl-Grundschule, the partner primary school of the German-Ghanaian International School in Atwima, where pupils showcased projects including a jointly produced ABC book, a cocoa-farming and fair-trade study, and a dedicated partnership library.
He also toured Krönner, a family-run chocolate manufacturer producing organic chocolate from cocoa sourced through Yayra Glover’s cooperative in Suhum, Ghana, proceeds of which supports developmental projects the in the Suhum municipality in Ghana.
His Excellency Prof. Ohene Adjei also visited the Murnau Accident and Emergency Clinic, one of Germany’s leading specialist hospitals. The visit to Murnau concluded with a Bavarian evening hosted by the Honorary Consul of Ghana in Munich, Mr. Florian Wolfart, celebrating the Murnau-Atwima partnership with a showcase of Bavarian culture.
In Munich, the Ambassador met the Ghanaian community and, in his remarks, encouraged the diaspora to continue contributing to Ghana’s development through investment and knowledge transfer.
He seized the opportunity to address community concerns on consular services, visa processing and diaspora registration, and reaffirmed that the Embassy’s doors remain open to all Ghanaians in Germany.
