The Official Visit Of H.E. Prof. Ohene Adjei, The Ambassador Of Ghana To The Federal Republic Of Germany To Hamburg

The Ambassador of Ghana to the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Prof. Ohene Adjei, paid an official visit to Hamburg from 30th  May to 1st June, 2026.  He was accompanied by Mr. Fred Frimpong, the Head of the Consular Section at the Embassy of Ghana in Berlin.

During his visit, the Ambassador met the Ghanaian community in Hamburg and in delivering his remarks, he  acknowledged  the vital role the diaspora community plays in shaping not only their communities  abroad but for the future of our beloved homeland  Ghana.  He commended their sacrifices, talents and achievements in contributing immensely to Ghana.

The Ambassador also urged the Ghanaian community to include the younger generation especially Ghanaians born in Germany to learn and recognize their roots, identity and culture as Ghanaians.

His Excellency Prof. Ohene Adjei seized the opportunity to inform Ghanaians about the presence of the  Consulate-General of Ghana  in Hamburg. He stated that the Consulate will not only provide consular services but also attend to the welfare and needs of all Ghanaians.

His Excellency the Ambassador also met the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Port of Hamburg Marketing, H.E. Hendrik Meyn and other Senior Officials from the Ministry  for Economics, Labour and Innovation of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.  The Ambassador and his delegation had a boat tour where they had firsthand view of the Port of Hamburg.  One of the most important seaports in Europe and a central hub for global trade.

His Excellency Prof. Ohene Adjei also met with Ms. Liv Assmann, the State Councillor to the Federal Government, the European Union and Foreign Affairs.  During the meeting , H.E. the Ambassador, reiterated the desire to deepen the longstanding relations between Ghana and Germany, especially Hamburg. He highlighted the need for the establishment of a sister city partnership with focus on health to facilitate technologies and capacity building, labour mobility agreements, cultural and educational exchanges especially in areas such as vocational and technical education.
