The Ghana Embassy in Berlin was honoured to host
Hon. Dr Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, and
Hon. George Opare Addo, Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment,
during their visit to Germany from 17 to 19 November 2025 to explore first-hand opportunities under the Government of Ghana’s Work Abroad Programme implemented through the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
As part of the programme, the delegation met the Mayor of Osterode am Harz in Lower Saxony, who provided a detailed briefing on the municipality’s current and projected demand for skilled workers and the scope for structured labour mobility cooperation with Ghana.
H.E. Prof. Ohene Adjei, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Federal Republic of Germany, joined the Ministers for engagements in Berlin with German private sector companies interested in the ethical and development oriented recruitment of Ghanaian skilled labour.
